BUSINESSWOMEN LAUNCH NEW NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO ASSIST AT-RISK YOUTH
Ryme Assaad, Executive Board Member & Managing Director of Kapstone Co. and Rosemary Romanos, Co-founder of SunRay Energy, together with Deborah Conver, Founder of U.S.-based Corporate Affairs Solutions International, announced today that they have registered a new not-for-profit organization in Lebanon entitled Sustainable Empowerment for Youth (SEFY International). SEFY’s mission will be to serve, educate and empower poor and underserved youth ages 17 to 25, beginning in Lebanon, using sustainability and innovation as tools to break the cycle of poverty, build resilience among people and work towards a prosperous future. SEFY International will serve as the umbrella organization for initiatives in Lebanon and around the world.
“We believe in a sustainable, equal and empowered future for our generation to come,” said co-founder and SEFY President Ryme Assaad. “Our focus will be on youth education, employment and empowerment with a special emphasis on young women and refugees.”
Co-founder Deborah Conver further noted, “We strive to implement cross-cutting solutions to pressing issues in Lebanon and the world such as the implementation of sustainable development goals (Agenda2030), fundamental human rights and women’s rights/gender parity. Our ultimate goal is to establish, through these programs, sustainable cities where opportunities and benefits are there for all.”
SEFY’s initial projects will involve awareness, education and employment opportunities in solar power installation across a broad spectrum of Lebanese economic sectors including agriculture, water and electric power grids. “The need for solar power in Lebanon has grown tremendously,” stated Ms. Romanos. “There has never been a better time to match useful local manpower with the demands of the growing industry of renewable energy in Lebanon. By doing so, we are providing youth life skills, career orientation, employment opportunities and much more.”
SEFY International is a tax-exempted, not-for-profit organization, registered in Lebanon. For more information, see www.SEFYInternational.com or contact Ryme Assaad, President SEFY International at email@example.com.
